Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how eWonic Corporation ("eWonic," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the eWonic mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
This Policy is meant to be read with our Terms of Service, available at https://www.ewonicapp.com/terms.
1. Summary
eWonic is designed for real-time translation with privacy-first defaults.
Free offline One Phone translation runs on device for English and Spanish when the required Apple on-device language capabilities are available.
Most app use does not require an account.
eWonic does not use transcript analytics, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking.
eWonic does not sell personal information.
eWonic does not store conversations or transcripts as a long-term conversation archive on eWonic servers.
When you use 70+ language translation or host a Conference, live microphone audio is sent to Google Gemini for translation.
When you request Personal Notes, selected transcript text and note instructions are sent through Supabase to Google Gemini to generate the requested notes.
2. Information We Process
We process different information depending on which features you use.
Account and Subscription Information
If you sign in, sync paid access, restore purchases, host a Conference, use 70+ language translation, or use Personal Notes, we may process:
Email address.
Supabase account identifiers.
Authentication and session data.
App Store subscription metadata, such as product ID, renewal state, transaction identifiers, signed transaction data, entitlement status, and app account token.
Account deletion and reauthentication records needed to process account deletion requests.
Apple processes App Store payments. We do not collect or store your payment card number.
Translation Request Information
When needed to provide translation features, we may process:
Selected source and target languages.
Conference room/session identifiers.
Host/listener role information.
Entitlement status and plan limits.
Short-lived token request metadata.
Timing, connection, and error information needed to operate and troubleshoot translation.
Audio and Speech Content
The app uses your microphone to capture voice input for translation.
Free offline One Phone translation is processed on device for English and Spanish when the required Apple language capabilities are available.
When you use 70+ language translation or host a Conference, live microphone audio is sent to Google Gemini for translation after Supabase authorizes a short-lived session token.
In Conference mode, the host device sends host microphone audio for translation. Listener devices receive translated audio and captions over the active local room connection. Listener devices do not need their own Google Gemini account for Conference listening.
Transcripts, Captions, Notes, and Exports
The app may create captions, transcripts, and saved notes during use.
Saved transcripts and notes are stored locally on your device unless you export, share, delete, or otherwise move them.
If you request Personal Notes, the selected transcript text, note style, and optional custom instructions are sent through Supabase to Google Gemini to create the requested notes.
If you export or share transcripts, notes, audio, or support files, your chosen destination handles that exported content under its own terms and privacy policy.
If you send feedback or support information to us, we may process the information you choose to include in that request.
Website and Support Information
When you visit our website or contact support, we or our service providers may process:
Standard web request data, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested, timestamps, and referring page.
Information you submit through support, email, forms, or other contact methods.
Basic operational data needed for website security, hosting, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
We do not use this information for cross-app tracking or third-party advertising.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect precise location, contact lists, biometric data, photos, or payment card numbers through the app.
We do not use advertising identifiers. We do not use Firebase, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, or similar analytics tools in the app unless this Policy is updated first.
Local network and Bluetooth permissions help nearby devices discover and communicate with a Conference room. eWonic does not use those permissions to collect precise location.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide translation, captions, transcripts, Conference listening, Conference hosting, and Personal Notes.
Authenticate accounts and sync paid access across devices.
Verify App Store subscription entitlements and restore purchases.
Issue short-lived tokens for translation that requires an internet connection.
Generate Personal Notes only when requested.
Store transcripts and notes locally on your device.
Support account deletion, support requests, security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
Maintain service reliability and enforce plan limits.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not use audio, transcripts, captions, or notes for advertising. We do not use transcript analytics.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with service providers only as needed to provide the Services.
Apple
Apple handles App Store downloads, in-app purchases, subscription management, payment processing, device-level permission prompts, and relevant Apple platform services. Apple may provide eWonic with subscription and transaction information needed to verify paid access.
Supabase
Supabase may process account identity, authentication data, subscription-sync data, entitlement checks, account deletion requests, short-lived translation token requests, generated-note requests, request metadata, and related operational data.
Google Gemini
Google Gemini processes live microphone audio when you use 70+ language translation or host a Conference. Google Gemini also processes selected transcript text, note style, and optional note instructions when you request Personal Notes.
When eWonic uses paid Gemini API services, Google states that prompts and responses are not used to improve Google's products and are processed under Google's applicable data processing terms. Google Gemini services remain subject to Google's own terms, policies, regional availability, safety systems, and technical limits.
Website Hosting and Support Providers
Our public website may be hosted by Framer or another website hosting provider. Email and support providers may process support requests you send to us. These providers process information to host the website, deliver support, prevent abuse, and keep services reliable.
6. AI and Model Training
eWonic does not use your audio, transcripts, captions, or notes to train eWonic models.
eWonic does not permit service providers to use your audio, transcripts, captions, or notes for advertising. For Google Gemini processing, see Google's applicable Gemini API terms and data processing terms.
7. Tracking and Advertising
We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not share personal information with data brokers.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or advertising identifiers in the app.
8. Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required by law, security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, or App Store compliance needs.
Typical retention practices:
Locally saved transcripts and notes remain on your device until you delete them, uninstall the app, erase the device, or move/export them.
Account and subscription-sync records are retained while your account exists and as needed to verify entitlements, process restores, handle refunds/revocations, prevent abuse, satisfy legal obligations, and maintain business records.
Short-lived translation token records and operational request metadata are retained only as needed for service operation, security, troubleshooting, and compliance.
Support messages are retained as needed to respond to you, maintain support history, and comply with legal obligations.
Account deletion removes the Supabase identity and associated eWonic account data, subject to limited records we must retain for legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, dispute, or backup purposes.
Before publishing, confirm exact production retention periods for Supabase logs, Google Gemini request handling, website hosting logs, and support email.
