Microphone and Audio Consent Notice

Effective Date: December 15, 2025

This notice explains how eWonic uses your microphone and voice data when you use the eWonic mobile or web application (“App”). By continuing to use the App, you provide your consent to the use of your device’s microphone for the purposes described below.

1. Use of Microphone

·       eWonic uses your microphone solely to capture spoken input for real-time speech-to-speech translation.

·       The App will prompt you for microphone access via your device’s operating system (e.g., iOS or Android) upon first use.

2. Real-Time Processing Only

·       Voice input is processed in real time on your device using Apple’s on-device APIs or, in fallback cases, via secure transmission to Microsoft Azure.

·       We do not store, record, or transmit your audio to our own servers.

3. No Recording or Archiving

·       eWonic does not record or save your conversations.

·       All audio is processed temporarily and discarded immediately after translation is completed.

4. Local Peer Communication

·       If you use the app’s peer-to-peer features (“Nearby Mode” or “Convention Mode”), voice data is transmitted locally via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi using Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity framework.

·       No audio is routed through central servers.

5. Your Consent

By tapping “Continue,” using the App, or initiating a translated conversation, you: - Consent to the use of your microphone during sessions. - Acknowledge that voice data is processed for the sole purpose of enabling real-time translation. - Agree that you are responsible for using the App in appropriate contexts and not for critical, medical, or legal decisions.

6. Withdrawing Consent

·       If you no longer consent to microphone usage, you may disable microphone access in your device settings.

·       Disabling the microphone will limit or prevent the App’s translation functionality.
